GENERAL QUESTIONS

+ When and where is Badlands Music Festival?

Badlands Music Fest is happening from July 3 to 13 at the Badlands Tent located at 725 9th Ave SW, Calgary.

+ Where is Lost and Found?

Any returned itmes will be available at Commonwealth Bar & Stage July 18-20th from 2pm to 7pm

+ What is the minimum age to attend?

You must be at least 18 years of age and present valid primary & secondary ID with your tickets upon entry. See below for more details on IDs we accept.

+ What kind of ID do I need to get in?

We abide strictly by AGLC (Alberta Gaming, Liquor and Cannabis ) regulations and cannot make any exceptions. You’ll need a primary piece of government issued ID* with an approved secondary ID.**

Acceptable forms of primary ID: Valid driver’s license / Valid passport/ Alberta Operators License / armed forces identification card / out-of-province photo driver’s license / certificate of Indian status / Canadian citizenship or permanent residency card/ Nexus Card or other trusted traveler program government issued photo ID

Valid primary identification must: Have a photo / have a name / have a signature / be government issued / include date of birth / not be expired / have a unique identifier number / be an original (not a copy). Acceptable forms of secondary id: Birth certificate / baptismal certificate / foreign government visa / firearms license

The following forms of identification are NOT accepted: Expired ID of any kind Temporary paper ID Photos of any ID School Identification Cards

+ Is there seating available for the concert?

The venue is general admission standing room only. Lawn chairs of any kind are not permitted. If you have accessibility considerations, more information can be found in the Accessibility section below.

+ Can I charge my cellphone somewhere?

Sorry, no on-site charging is available.

+ Can I bring a Water Bottle/Hydration Pack?

There will be free water stations on site for guests to fill their bottles. Water bottles cannot exceed 1 litre and must be soft-sided (squeezable) - no glass OR hard-sided bottles, including hard plastic. Hydration packs are permitted - No metal or hard framing; must be soft-sided and squeezeable. Cannot have more than 2 main compartments & 1 smaller compartment. Bladder cannot exceed 2L (litres) and must be empty & open for inspection upon arrival.

+ What is the Camera Policy?

Guests may use personal cameras and mobile phones to take photos inside the venue. Cameras with detachable lenses are not permitted. Professional video cameras or video/audio recording devices are not permitted at the event.

+ Can I Smoke / Vape in the venue?

Smoking and Vaping is permitted on site. All cigarettes must be in factory sealed (Unopened) packaging when entering the site. Opened packages will not be permitted. Reusable vapes must have empty chambers and a factory sealed (unopened) container of vape juice. Disposable or single use vapes must be factory sealed (unopened).

The dedicated smoking and vaping area is behind the large structure in the centre of the site just inside the Main Entrance. Cannabis consumption is not permitted in this area. Just look for the green grass area.

The dedicated cannabis consumption area is right beside the VIP/GA+/Outlaw Pass Entrance. Refer to our Cannabis Policy below for additional important information.

+ What is your cannabis policy?

All persons entering the venue are subject to search of their person and property upon entry, as allowable by law. The venue will allow guests who are of legal age (18+) to bring Cannabis, THC and related derivatives permitted by law into the venue subject to the following conditions:

  1. Cannabis, THC and related derivatives in infused foods, oils or candies commonly referred to as “edibles” MUST be in factory sealed packaging from a Provincially Approved and Regulated Supplier. Opened packages, homemade products or those where the supplier cannot be confirmed will not be allowed into the event.
  2. The quantity of Cannabis, THC and related derivatives permitted shall be in accordance with local laws and regulations pertaining to possession and personal consumption.
  3. Cannabis is for personal use only and the unregulated sale of cannabis is strictly prohibited.

Guests who are of legal age (18+) will be allowed to use and/or consume the above identified Cannabis, THC and related derivatives they have brought on site. Guests who are of legal age are also able to purchase these products from a Provincially Approved and Regulated Supplier and have them delivered to a dedicated area within the venue, located inside the designated cannabis consumption zone.

Use of and consumption of these products is subject to the following conditions:

  1. Smoking and vaping of these products can only occur in the designated smoking area. Doing so outside the designated area may result in eviction from the venue.
  2. Any guest who overuses or overconsumes any intoxicant is subject to eviction.
  3. No guest can supply another person with these products. Doing so will result in eviction from the venue.
  4. Security staff will evict any person who sells or purchases these products from another person inside the venue, with the exception of picking-up these items from a Provincially Approved and Regulated Supplier in the dedicated area for this.

Approved Container Types All approved suppliers will adhere to the packaging requirements mandates by law. Packaging must include the following:

  1. The standardized cannabis symbol
  2. The brand name of the cannabis product
  3. THC and CBD content
  4. Health warning message
  5. Other brand element
  6. Other required information about the cannabis product
  7. Non-required information about the cannabis product
  8. Nutrition facts table
  9. List of ingredients
  10. Bar code

Cannabis can only be consumed in the designated consumption area. Please refer to the site map or ask festival staff for the designated location.

+ WHAT ITEMS CAN’T I BRING?

The following items are NOT permitted on site:

  • Aerosol containers of any kind
  • Animals (Service dog teams must have an Alberta Service Dog Identification Card Get a service dog identification card | Alberta.ca OR, if from out of province, the equivalent license/Identification card from the licensing body in their home state or province)
  • Any bag larger than 6”x 9”, with the exception of clear single compartment bags up to 12”x 6”x 12”, 1-gallon clear plastic freezer bags or medically necessary or diaper bags
  • Any item that can be used as a projectile, including but not limited to metal or hard sided water bottles
  • Artificial noise makers, including megaphones and air horns
  • Balloons or inflatables of any kind
  • Coolers
  • Costume masks
  • Drones
  • Flag poles or poles/long sticks of any kind
  • Gang or club clothing and/or gang or club support gear, including but not limited to banners, signs and flags
  • Gas masks
  • Glass of any kind
  • Hard-sided (Wood or metal framed) folding fans and any fan larger than 13.5” x 25”
  • Helmets, unless medically required
  • Illegal drugs and drug paraphernalia
  • Laser pointers of any kind
  • Markers, pens or spray paint
  • Musical instruments and Bluetooth speakers
  • Outside food & beverage, with the exception of medically necessary or prescribed items
  • Outside liquor
  • Perfume or cologne bottles
  • Pocket knives of any kind
  • POI, whips and other flow props
  • Portable chairs of any kind, including lawn chairs and stadium seats
  • Posters and signs, except for those purchased from an authorized merchandise vendor inside the event
  • Professional audio, video, or photography equipment (no detachable lenses, zoom lens 2 inches or greater, tripods or commercial/professional use camera assemblies)
  • Pyrotechnics of any kind, including fireworks, sparklers or firecrackers
  • Selfie Sticks and Go Pro apparatus
  • Skateboards, rollerblades, roller skates, scooters, wheeled or motorized items intended to be ridden
  • Sports equipment (i.e., Frisbees, etc.)
  • Tactical clothing or equipment
  • Tents
  • THC or derivative products UNLESS in factory sealed (unopened) packaging from a licensed supplier (limited to legal restrictions)
  • Umbrellas
  • Walking sticks or canes of any kind unless it is a medical required mobility device
  • Water guns
  • Weapons of any kind and/or items that can be used as a weapon, including but not limited to large spikes, heavy wallet chains, bats/clubs, etc.
  • Any other item deemed unsafe by venue management

+ WHAT RESTRICTIONS ARE THERE FOR ITEMS I CAN BRING?

The following items ARE permitted on site:

  • Cigarette packs – Must be unopened in factory sealed packaging from a Provincially approved and regulated supplier
  • Empty refillable drink containers (NO Glass) ***Must be 1 litre in size or smaller and soft sided (squeezable). Limit 1 per person.
  • Go Pro Cameras ONLY. NO Go Pro apparatus, including selfie sticks, are allowed.
  • Gum – Must be unopened in factory sealed packaging
  • Hydration packs. No metal or hard framing; must be soft-sided and squeezable. Cannot have more than 2 main compartments & 1 smaller compartment. Bladder cannot exceed 2L (litres) and must be empty & open for inspection upon arrival
  • Medically prescribed/required medications (must be in prescription container and verified with owner produced government issued photo identification), food and beverage items
  • Personal cameras and mobile phones. No detachable lenses or zoom lenses 2 inches or greater.
  • Reasonable amounts of sunscreen (No aerosol containers allowed)
  • Service dogs. Note: Service dog teams must have an Alberta Service Dog Identification Card Get a service dog identification card | Alberta.ca OR, if from out of province, the equivalent license/Identification card from the government licensing body in their home state or province
  • Soft sided folding fans that do not exceed 13.5” x 25”
  • THC or derivative products must be in factory sealed (unopened) packaging from a provincially licensed supplier (limited to legal restrictions)
  • Vape juice E-liquid – Must be unopened, factory sealed and personal amount only
  • Vapes (must have empty chamber or be in unopened factory sealed container from licensed supplier)
  • 1-gallon clear plastic freezer bag
  • Any bag 6” x 9” or smaller
  • Any single compartment clear bag 12”x 6”x12” or smaller
  • Medically necessary bags or diaper bags for infant or young children alt text

Getting here

+ Is there parking?

Street parking is limited. We strongly encourage everyone to utilize alternative transportation methods and plan ahead to not drive while under the influence.

+ How can I get there on public transit?

The C-Train is easiest. Get off at 7th Street station and you’re just two blocks away! For guests arriving via public transit, please download the City of Calgary “My Fare” app and purchase transit tickets through the app to avoid long line-ups and delays at transit stations.

+ Where can I catch a taxi or Uber?

Taxi and Uber pickup will be on the south side of 9th Ave. SW, between 7th St. SW and 6th St. SW. Drop-offs and pick-ups must occur east of the pedestrian overpass on 9th Ave. SW.


Tickets & Admission

+ Do you allow re-entry?

There are no ins and outs during each festival day. If you leave earlier than the closing time of each day, you will not be able to re-enter without buying a new ticket (if available).

+ Are there VIP areas & bottle service available?

Yes! Bottle service is available for purchase, please visit our VIP/Group Bookings page for all enquiries. Please note, you must have a VIP wristband to access VIP areas.

+ I got my tickets from a “friend”/ Kijiji /this one guy I know. How do I know if they are valid?

There is no way to guarantee third party tickets are legit. The only tickets we guarantee are ones purchased directly from badlandsmusicfest.com through TicketWeb.

+ Tickets are sold out for a certain event, will anymore become available?

There may be a chance that more tickets will be released at the door. Follow our social media pages to find out.

+ I lost my tickets, what do I do?

Log in to your TicketWeb account to access your tickets. You can present the barcode(s) from your mobile device to be scanned or provide a printed copy. Please note, once your ticket has been scanned no other copies will work.

+ When purchasing tickets from TicketWeb I entered the wrong email. What now?

Please email TicketWeb customer service at help@ticketweb.ca and they will be able to assist. Please note there may be a delay in response, so contact them as soon as possible.

+ What are the accessibility seating options?

Raised ADA area is available for any patrons requiring wheelchair or special seating considerations. The accessible seating option is available to ticketholders using wheelchairs, crutches, or who have any other physical disabilities or injuries that will necessitate a seat or raised view for the show.

Any ticketholder who have special seating requirements should email LNWESTERNCANADAHELP@LIVENATION.COM with your ticket order confirmation number to request access to the accessible seating area. We recommend coordinating this in advance of the event. If needed, there will be a designated staff member available on site to provide some assistance. Accessible seating patrons who require an attendant are encouraged to purchase a ticket for their attendant and include mention of them in the email. There will be 1 attendant permitted per accessible seating patron in the designated seating area.

If you arrive at the show and do not find that the accommodations are adequate for your specific circumstances, please notify a staff member on-site to escalate your request.

+ Are service animals allowed?

Payments

+ What are my payment options on site?

Badlands Music Fest is a cashless event. All major credit cards & debit cards will be accepted on site.


Health & Safety

+ IS THERE MEDICAL AT THE EVENT?

There sure is! Health & safety at our event is our number one priority. The medical tent is located inside the venue, be sure to note its location upon entry to the event or ask event staff for help, if needed.

+ WHAT CAN I DO TO PROTECT MY HEALTH & SAFETY AT THE EVENT?

If you are reading this FAQ, you’re off to a great start! Be sure to:

  • Stay hydrated and drink lots of water
  • Wear sunscreen and dress for the weather
  • Check your local Public Health website on safe substance use and alcohol consumption
  • Do not bring prohibited items into the event
  • Follow our Fan Code of Conduct for your and everyone’s safety
  • Keep an eye out for your friends
  • Follow instruction from event staff – they are here to help

FAN CODE OF CONDUCT

At Badlands Music Festival, we are committed to creating a safe, comfortable, and enjoyable experience for everyone. We ask that your conduct contribute to everyone’s enjoyment of the event, be legally appropriate, and not be offensive or abusive to others. For your safety and comfort, unacceptable conduct is subject to ejection and includes, but is not limited to, the following:

  • Use of foul, threatening, offensive or abusive language or gestures.
  • Discrimination, bullying or hate that harasses, victimizes, degrades, or intimidates an individual or group of individuals on the basis of religion, race, national origin, ethnicity, sexual orientation, gender, age, ability, physical appearance or other.
  • Harassment, including unwelcome or hostile behavior, physical contact or sexual attention.
  • Fighting or any other type of violence.
  • Wearing or using clothing, signs, and banners which are offensive in nature.
  • Excessive intoxication or impairment due to alcohol/cannabis or consumption of illegal substances.
  • Throwing objects or interfering with the progress of the event.
  • Being in possession of alcohol not purchased inside the venue.
  • Being in possession of weapons, illegal substances or any other prohibited items.
  • Smoking (including e-cigarettes, personal vapourizers, and cannabis) in non-designated areas.
  • Unpermitted access and breaching perimeters to the festival areas or other restricted areas.
  • Any other conduct that may be deemed by Badlands Music Festival to be inappropriate or which may adversely affect the safety of persons, property, or disruption of the event.

Badlands Music Festival will not tolerate any unsafe, offensive behaviour that violates our Fan Code of Conduct. Failure to abide by this Code may result in ejection, suspension from entering any or all of our venues or events.

Each of us has a responsibility to report any act that goes against the values that we stand for. So, if you see something, say something. Report any safety concerns to our management team right away.
